Bullet Head Bucktail Jigs, All New Style

$ 2.75

     Effective immediately and until further notice I won't be tieing bucktails in sizes over 1 oz.   The slowly worsening deer tail shortage has finally caught up to me.  I have received my last shipment of tails until next Fall. As a result I don't have enough tails with long enough hair and of good enough quality to continue those sizes.  I expect this to continue until next October or November.

     Sizes up to and including 1 oz are not affected by this.

     My apologies for this inconvenience but there isn't much I can do about it other than using artificial materials.  I would only do that on request.

     Bare heads and heads that are painted but not dressed will all be available as normal.

 What you see here is a whole new Bullet Head Bucktail jig. They are designed from the hook out to overcome some of the things I didn't like about the old style head.

     First is a new head shape.  The old type is just too blunt, especially in the smaller sizes.  This is more streamlined like a fish.

     Next is the hook.  These use Mustad #32824 60º, 2x strong, forged and Black Nickel plated hooks.  They are sharper than the old Mustad 34184 and 34185's, have a smaller barb so the hole in the fishes mouth is smaller and the gap is bigger which makes better hookups.

     The tying collar is also better because it features a taper that won't allow the dressing to slip.  In addition the tying collar sizes are more consistent from one size to the next.

     Hook eye placement is a true forward balanced position, giving the head a near ideal presentation when fishing a beach or jetty or wading.

     By having a complete new set of molds made two other issues were addressed. Gaps in the sizes offered have been eliminated and weights are now more accurate.

     In addition to the new features all the good old materials, methods and practices are being retained.  Good quality deer hair dressing, epoxy coated dressing wraps and heat cured powder coat paint will still be used.  The usual practice of generous quantities of hair dressing is also being retained but if a more sparse presentation is preferred all you have to do is ask for it.  Colors are still the same as for standards but if something else is desired, again just ask.  If I can do it I usually will.

     These are a great Bucktail for all game fish in both fresh water and salt.  Striped Bass, Redfish, Fluke, Weakfish, Cobia, Bluefish, Largemouth Bass, Smallmouth Bass, Pike, Pickerel, Musky.............The list is long.

     The best way to contact me for requests is by email.  sales@tinmantackle.com goes directly to me.

     I've added a picture of the bare heads so you can see the actual head shape and relative sizes.  There is another listing for bare heads.

OK, enough sales pitch.  Here's pictures.
